What my Clients Say about My Experience in Public Relations, as a Copywriter and an SEO Copywriter:
Ronald Marc Weber, Global Director of Digital Marketing at Teradata: “Gary was my manager and mentor during the early days of the Internet. He was a visionary, opening one of the very first digital agencies in San Diego, and was a visionary with helping clients get better results. He taught me well, and I have gone on to an amazing career because of it. Gary is an asset, and would be one to any organization. Selected Media Relations Project
Capital Realty came to me with a public relations challenge: get maximum media exposure for a grand opening event for their property in Peoria – Greenwood Estates – with less than a week lead time. I provided the following services for the project:
- Media Relations
- Media Training/coaching for the principals in the event
- Event and Press Conference coordination
A press conference was scheduled, which included Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis, Peoria City Manager Patrick Urich, and officials from the Peoria Police Department, as well as principals from Capital Realty and residents of the property.
I did the media relations for the event, securing coverage from several major media with a very short lead time, and also worked with the principals involved with the event to coach them on their statements. I also coached them on how to handle potential follow-up questions from the media.
The event was a great public relations success, being the lead story on the 5 pm news with WMBD – TV. It was also covered by WEEK-TV and WCBU radio.
